In celebration of International Day of Peace, our Peace Committee, led by Laura Mohajer along with Virginia Souza and Alain Pincot, organized a heartfelt tribute by planting three Peace Roses at Rotary Centennial Park. This act honors the three Santa Maria Rotary clubs and symbolizes our collective commitment to peace.
International Day of Peace reminds us that promoting peace is a daily endeavor. Rotary International plays a vital role in this mission, fostering peace through community service, conflict resolution, and education initiatives around the globe. By addressing the root causes of conflict and empowering individuals, Rotary helps to create more harmonious communities.
As we planted these roses, we reflected on the impact of Rotary’s efforts—whether it’s through local projects that uplift neighborhoods or international initiatives that provide clean water, health care, and education. Each rose serves as a reminder of the beauty that comes from unity and the ongoing work we all must do to cultivate peace in our world. Together, we can inspire hope and change, one community at a time.
