President's Message

Hello Friends,

Rotarians have some wander- lust just like the rest of the nation.  (Great potential for some upcoming fines!)  Attendance has been low for the past two weeks.  Hope you will make every effort if you are in town to be at the Santa Maria Inn Tuesday & greet our friend Jim Glines and one or two young Rodeo stars as our program!  The “Old West” is alive and well in Santa Maria!  Get primed for the Elks Rodeo as we learn about and support our young equestrians at AHC.

Board members:  Please be ready for a Board meeting at 1 PM.  The agenda will be sent to you along with the budget.

See you at the Santa Maria Inn!  And consider bringing a guest to check out the program.

YIRS,

Virginia

Maricopa Update

Investigative reporter and part time dog walker, Scoop de Poop, resurrected an under reported story from earlier this summer.  In the upset of the century the Maricopa High School girls soccer team called the Ms.steps won the state championship against the heavily favored "oh-so-woke" Mira Costa Butterflies by the score of 29 - 7.   Trailing 7 - 0 at halftime, it was obvious to everyone that the Butterflies were bigger, faster, stronger, and more talented than the Ms.steps.  That is when the coach of the Ms.steps, Hope Anna Prayer, came up with the winning strategy.  Every time the Butterflies advanced the ball past midfield, Coach Hope Anna Prayer directed the Maricopa High School band to play the Star Spangled Banner.  At the sound of the national anthem the Butterflies immediately took a knee, thus enabling the Ms.steps to take control of the ball and go down and score, and they scored 29 unanswered goals in the second half.  This past week the two foot high trophy was delivered to Maricopa High School where the principal placed it in their trophy case.  But do not be dismayed for the Butterflies.  They received a Megan Rapinoe bobblehead for their trophy case.
