JUNE 18, 2019

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

This Tuesday, we’ll be dark for our general meeting at the Santa Maria Inn. Instead, we’ll be celebrating another Rotary year at the Far Western Tavern from 6:30p to 8:30p. As I Step Down as your President, we welcome Cynthia Schur as incoming President and she will formally indoctrinate your new Board.

Serving as President this year has forced me far outside of my comfort zone and it has made a permanent impression on me. I’d like to thank the club for being willing to try some new things this year. We tried a new schedule, we moved the room around, we moved our Sips & Sombreros event to a new location and gave away +$60k this year—a record amount to distribute back to the community. We had our first ever Fine Master and the Sunshine Report became our Rotary Family. We raffled off the Exemption Badge and heard from a wide variety of our members who shared interesting stories and personal experiences. At least two of our members claimed that they had never had the Exemption Badge in over 20 years in the club. We have so much to be proud of!! This has been a successful year in so many ways. Cheers to THE Rotary Club of Santa Maria! Let’s celebrate our successes and welcome Cynthia and her new board as they sign their life away for a year. Here’s to continuing to find new ways to make things better in the year ahead and in the future of our club.

Make today and EVERY day ridiculously amazing!! And Dare to be EXTRAordinary!
