PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
11/6/2018

I’d like to give a thunderous round of applause to Cynthia Schur, her Sips Committee, and to our Club for coming together to host such an incredible event on Saturday!  It was so much fun!  Several people commented about how much they liked the venue and how nice everything looked.  The music was great and our guests really enjoyed themselves.  Way to go Cynthia!
This is our flagship event and the entire club comes together to pull it off every year.  The overall numbers are not in yet, however, the Call to Action for Veteran’s Stand Down raised just over $28,000… a close second to the most raised for our beneficiary.  It was an emotional message hearing our 5th District Supervisor, Steve Lavagnino share the history of the event and heartwarming stories of heroes in need.  What an honor it is to play a small role in giving back to the people who fought for our freedom.  It was so rewarding to be able to contribute to the work they’re doing for our own Veteran’s in need.
I’ve been travelling the country so I’ve been Missing In Action most of October.  As a follow-up to our Club Assembly last month, the following meeting schedule and fees were approved by our membership:

Meeting fees – $10 for every meeting at the Santa Maria Inn (billed in advance)
Fifth Tuesday – DARK
Meals at the Inn – $11 (full meal option only)
No Meal – $0 (new, no meal option)
The vote was unanimous!  Thank you all for working so hard to find the win-win solution for our Club!!  Onward & Upward!  Our club will begin updating the bylaws to reflect the new terms that the membership has voted on.  Watch for more info on this coming soon for your review.
This week, the District Governor, Sandi Schwartz will be our distinguished guest.  It should be a great meeting!  I look forward to seeing you all there!
