THE ROTATOR

BE THE INSPIRATION
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
With all of the excitement of giving away the largest share of the funds raised at our annual Sips & Sombreros fundraiser, there’s more!!  We still have more $$$ to give away!  The Charitable Giving Committee is still accepting applications for our annual charitable giving.  Applications are due at 2pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2019 at 2pm.  There are so many great non-profit agencies doing great work in our community.  Submit an application to ensure your favorite charity has a chance to receive some of the funds our club has worked so hard to raise.
We’ve filled the calendar for the meetings I will be missing when I’m travelling this spring.  Thank you!! A great big thanks goes out to the Past-Presidents who have volunteered to fill-in while I’m away.

FEBRUARY 26th, 2019
BACK IN OUR REGULAR ROOM

GUEST SPEAKER
BROOKE TOWN
Co-Owner of "The Spoon Trade"
295 West Grand Ave, Grover Beach

Brooke Town grew up watching her father tending bar in the small town of Durango, Colorado, but her love of hospitality began in her teenage years on the Central Coast.  Talking to farmers, winemakers and other industry people reinforced the value of relationships.

The dinner menu is a collection of Chef, Jacob Town’s favorite things to cook, serve and eat. Jacob will use locally sourced products to create modern dishes that nod to the classics. Look for comforting entrées, such as Fried Chicken and Waffles or our fresh made pasta.

GUEST SPEAKER
DR. WEN CHEN
"The Negative Impact of the Chinese
Government on the Chinese Culture"
Your Rotator Editor was PROFOUNDLY impacted by this riveting presentation!  While I am the first to admit that my understanding of Chinese history had previously been based entirely on our education system and our media, it was astonishing to learn of the plight of the devotees of "Falun Gong" and the manner in which the Chinese government has targeted these people for the harvesting of human organs.  Maybe even more sinister was the revelation shared about how the Western World, to include the USA, has ignored and failed to condemn the Chinese government for these atrocities, literally the murder and organ harvesting of THOUSANDS of followers of Falon Gong.
For more information to come to you own conclusions:  www.StopOrganHarvesting.org...OR...read the book,
"The Slaughter" by Ethan Gutmann.

EXEMPTION BADGE PRESENTATION
JOHN HENNING described to the Club his recent exploration of the Georgia Aquarium and it acres-acres-acres of exhibits.  Be sure to take John's
recommendation and sign up for the "Behind the Scenes Tour"!!!
