See the source image  Central Coast AirFest

This energetic young aviator/entrepreneur brought an absolutely GREAT presentation to the Club!!  Starting off with a professionally produced Airfest PR Video, which in addition to a hugely successful 2018 Airfest, was instrumental in receiving the "Pinnacle Platinum Award" for "small" airshows issued by the International Council of Air Shows.
Chris then shared a heart-warming story about his Grandfather Jim Kunkle's exploits during WW II.  A P-38 Lightning pilot during WW II, Grandpa was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, Purple Heart, and French Legion of Honor!   Wao, not many people can make that claim!

Did anyone else get the impression that Chris is REALLY proud of his Grandfather???
Chris topped off his presentation by sharing some stats about the 2018 Airfest....
DID YA KNOW....
**Between 17,000 - 18,000 people attended the 2-day event last year!
**Over 1,300 out of town guests stayed in local hotels!
**The event generated an estimated $436,500 in economic stimulus in the region!
THIS YEAR'S AIRFEST WILL INCLUDE....
**The USAF F-16 VIPER DEMO TEAM!**
**The Air Tucker Demonstration**
**The Red Bull Air Force Jump Team**
**The Eric Tucker Flying Show**
**The Red Bull Helicopter Show**

EXEMPTION BADGE PRESENTATION
JOHN HENNING
John helped answer a number of Member's questions about his wife Sharon's recent medical bout.  John described the injury as a serious challenge AND at the same time, a BLESSING in disguise.  Had it not been for an accidental bump on her head in their kitchen and resulting trip to the doctor for x-rays, Sharon would never had found the melanoma in her eye.  THANKFULLY, a state-of-the-art medical treatment has helped Sharon on the road to a full recovery.

the Kapa'a, Kauai Club celebrated her birthday at Brothers
Restaurant in Santa Ynez.  Jo paid the Club a donation of $100,
which was "pre-arranged" with the Fine Master before the
                      meeting.  MAHALO NUI LOA, Jo.
Club AnniversaryTerri Lee Coleman rounded off her fine for 14-YEARS with
the Club and donated $15 to the Treasury.
Dani Martinez was not in attendance for her 8-Year membership
celebration, but GOOD Ol' Dad, Tommy Martinez, stepped up and
coughed up $20!  Way to GO DAD!!!
BragsCarl Engel was popped for a $20 fine for his picture on the FRONT
PAGE of the Santa Maria Times with Engel & Gray's 1946 Ford
Flatbed Pick Up Truck during the recent Bent Axles Car Show.
     Rotary Magazine Quiz:
Rotator Editor Jim Talbott led off the festivities by dropping $15 in the fine
bucket for mistakenly publishing last week's Quiz answer with the
WRONG CITY!!!  It was PARIS Jim, not Chicago!!!
Close but NO CROISSANT
The Club was then asked, "What is the popular bird that is known to fly
                      around the city of Paris?"
Ron Nanning didn't know, Parisian SONGBIRDS(???) and paid his $10 fine.
