President's Message

Fellow Rotarians,

This week we will be treated to hear a National Economist as our speaker. This does not happen very often so be sure to attend. This is also a great time to invite guests who may be interested in these topics.

There will be a Board meeting right after our regular meeting. Let's have a good turnout of the Board.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING: OUR MEETING ON APRIL 20th WILL BE AT ROTARY CENTENNIAL PARK. WE HAVE BEEN MEETING ON LINE SINCE MID NOVEMBER SO IT WILL BE GOOD TO SEE ALL OF YOUR SMILING FACES IN PERSON. WE WILL STILL PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING. ALL OR MOST OF OUR MEMBERS HAVE RECEIVED THEIR VACCINES.

Last Week's Meeting

Pam Macal, a third generation McDonalds owner in Santa Maria, was our speaker. She discussed the Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the country. These facilities house and feed hundreds of families each year while children are receiving medical care. The Ronald McDonald House for the Central Coast is on the campus of Stanford University.

Sadly, it was brought to the members attention that Teri White, wife of Andrew Millar, was tragically killed in an automobile accident in Oklahoma. On that same note, the Memorial for Scott Dunn will be on June 21 at Orcutt Presbyterian Church.

Penalties:

James Stoddard lost $15 for not showing up at Buena Vista Park.

Ken Dally was fined $15 for wanting to help the president move out of state.

Heather Weare lost $15 for mentioning the president was having trouble with Zoom meetings.

Carlie Engel was penalized $15 for trying to embarrass the president.

Grinding Teeth? Here's What You Should Know

All of these fines should have been appreciably more for the heartache they caused! There will be gnashing of teeth as the president attempts to balance his budget!

Ronald McDonald House

Last week's speaker told us that for the next couple of weeks $.25 from the sale of each McFlurry goes to the Ronald McDonald House. As a dedicated Rotarian Heather Weare drove through the McDonald's and treated her Dad and one of her numerous children to a McFlurry.

Maricopa Update

Homer Higgenbottom purchased a new hearing aide that has all of its functions controlled by an app on his smart phone. Last night he tried to raise the volume on his hearing aide and called 9-1-1 three times.
